/ The short answer
Weglot has a free plan for 2,000 words and one language, then paid plans from €15 to €699 a month. The plan you need depends on your word count multiplied by your number of languages, and on features such as translated URLs, which start on the €79 Pro plan.

How Weglot counts words
Weglot's word limit is a total across all translated languages, not a monthly allowance. A page with 1,000 words translated into three languages uses 3,000 words of your plan. Adding a language multiplies your word count, so the language limit and the word limit often push you to the next plan at the same time.
Count the words on your site before choosing a plan, then multiply by the number of languages you want. Remember that new pages, blog posts, and product descriptions add words over time.
Words = words on your site × translated languages.
Each plan also caps the number of translated languages, from 1 to 20.
Translated URL slugs are listed from the Pro plan; top-level domains from Extended.
Access to professional translators is listed from the Business plan.
Weglot cost examples
These examples apply the limits in Weglot's pricing table to common site sizes. They use monthly prices excluding VAT; yearly billing gives two months free.
Small site, 5,000 words into 1 language = 5,000 words: Starter, €15/month.
Business site, 15,000 words into 3 languages = 45,000 words: Business, €29/month.
Growing site, 30,000 words into 5 languages = 150,000 words: Pro, €79/month.
Content-heavy site, 60,000 words into 5 languages = 300,000 words: Advanced, €299/month, because it exceeds Pro's 200,000 words.
Any size, if you need translated URL slugs: at least Pro, €79/month.
/ Best fit
Which one fits your site?
When Altified is worth evaluating
Your site is a Next.js App Router application with a developer on the team.
You need many languages, where Weglot's language caps force a higher plan.
You want translated URLs, hreflang, and sitemaps generated in your own code.
When Weglot's pricing works well
Your site fits the free plan: up to 2,000 words and one language.
You translate a small site into one to three languages.
Your site runs on a platform Weglot integrates with and no developer is available.
/ What this means for your stack
Estimate your words before choosing a plan.
Weglot's price is driven by two numbers: total words and languages. Count your site's words, multiply by the languages you want, and check which plan covers both, plus any feature you need such as translated URLs.
If the result lands on Advanced or above, compare unlimited-word services and SDK-based options before committing, because the step from €79 to €299 a month is the largest in Weglot's table.
/ Where Altified fits
Keep translation connected to the application that serves it.
Altified is one option on this list, not a replacement for every Weglot use case. It applies when your site is a Next.js App Router application and your team wants translated pages, metadata, and routes generated by its own code.
